Once a Roman colony, Beirut and its surroundings still offers visitors a glimpse of the
cultural heritage which began over 5000 years ago. A journey to explore the fascinating
Jeita Grotto is a must. Here you will marvel at natures own architecture, the stalactites
and stalagmites on these rock formations. Then on to ancient Byblos, the Royal
treasures and the remains of one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world.. Then on to
Jounieh and the Church of the Lady of Harissa, set atop the mountain. Then time for
shopping in the famous bazaars of Lebanon.

Dine on the very best Middle Eastern delicacies. Traditional Lebanese food is truly
delicious, delicate yet tasty meats and vegetables, wonderful light airy bread and also
the famous sweet nut and honey confections. An evening for the gourmet and a chance to
study the extraordinary movements of the local belly dancers.

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands and is aptly described as
the Pearl of the Mediterranean.
From the 3rd century onwards it was hailed as the 'Wondrous City of the Sun'
You will enjoy the contrast of the old and the new with plenty of night life on offer,
plus excellent shopping, contrasting with the 15th century Medieval buildings , of which
the palace fortress dominates the old town.

dine in one of the picturesque tavernas where one will revel in the taste of a true Greek
meze.

This small picturesque island north of Rhodes is
truly unique in that it is relatively unspoilt by the trappings of the 20th century. A day can be spent exploring the beautiful sea
caves, or one can just relax and soak up the character at one of the local beach tavernas
which serve the famous Simi fish meze.

Alexandria

Founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C. Alexandria
is Egypt's second city and its largest port.
Early in the morning we will leave port and visit the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate and the
famous house of Evangalismos, the Greco Roman Museum, with its valuable treasures from the
Ptolemian and Roman period and a visit to the house/museum of the Greek poet Constandinos
Kaviafis.
Then the Greek community buildings, the Montaza Palace Gardens and finally the Egyptian
Bazaars
Cairo Museum - Pyramids
First stop is the Egyptian museum to see some of the finest antiquities in
the world, including the finds from the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amon, collections of jewelry and
some of the most precious objects ever discovered.
After a packed lunch, there is a visit to the world famous Pyramids of Giza and the
Sphinx.
The last stop is a Papyrus factory and an oriental souvenir shop, if time permits.
