We were approached by people wishing to study alternative forms of therapy such
as acupuncture and reflexology in Cyprus, We made enquiries and found that there were no
such facilities locally. I was just thinking how sad this was, when into my E-mail box
popped a bright little star, A college of such sciences wishing to teach in Cyprus was
approaching us ! Funny how these things happen!
Anyway, we had a meeting a few days ago with Dr. Yair Maimon (O.M.D., PhD, Ac)
who is one of the founders of Medi-Cin College of Complementary Medicine He is also the
head of the Complementary Medicine Unit at Sorausky Hospital, Israel, and the director of
the Health Sciences Continuing Education Program for Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at
Bar Ilan University, Israel.
If we can muster enough interest here, they will do a course of 200 hours over a year
at a very reasonable price. This is the largest school for the study of Chinese Medicine in
Israel. They have a approximately 2000 students in their school and do a lot of
research work as well.
The main subjects they deal with are:
Acupuncture
Chinese Medicine
Reflexology
Shiatsu
Bach Flower remedies
Therapeutic touch
(and one other, similar to shiatsu, which I can't quite remember the name of, but will post
here as soon as it is spelt out for me)
