I have never personally seen a UFO in Cyprus in my 30 years of
being on the island. I did however see something that my brain can only understand as a
UFO sighting about 30 years ago in Wiltshire. It was 4 am and I was looking up at
the sky when I saw what looked like a bright star moving in a straight line into centre
sky, I thought at first that it was a satellite, which I found interesting enough, but
then it stopped. From it 3 lights shot out, moving incredibly fast in each direction at a
wide and regular angle to each other. That in itself was 'almost' explainable. Maybe a
uniformly exploding asteroid, or a weird meteorite, but the next thing was not. The 3
lights then came back again and joined with the first, which then seemed to go
'straight up' until it was no more. It wasn't a very 'close encounter', but I think it was
strange enough to warrant a mention.
The skies in Cyprus are still relatively clear from light
pollution once you get out of the cities. Come and check it out. We have
some great bursts of shooting stars at least.
